Danushka Edirisinghe is a first-year Postgraduate student studying with Hannah Roberts at the Royal Academy of Music where he has won awards such as the May Mukle/Douglas Cameron Cello Prize, Strings and Piano Duo Prize, and graduated his Bachelor of Music with the Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Prize. In 2022 he won the Haslemere International String Competition which led to a performance of Haydn’s D Major Cello Concerto with the London Mozart Players. As a freelancing orchestral musician, he has had the opportunity to perform in orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Sinfonia of London, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Royal Northern Sinfonia.
